Heart Attack

Your heart muscle is surrounded by a network of blood vessels known as coronary arteries that supply it with oxygen-rich blood it needs to function. A heart attack is caused by a blockage that severely reduces or stops the flow of blood in one of these coronary arteries. All or part of the heart muscle can be damaged when cut off from the supply of oxygen it needs to function.
